WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Wausau’s Artrageous Weekend returns this weekend, with the debut of the 42nd annual Birds in Art exhibit at the Woodson Art Museum.
Marketing and Communications Manager for the museum, Amy Beck, says this year’s Master Artist has a unique distinction.
Beck said, “Don Rambadt is a Milwaukee sculptor, and he is the first Wisconsin Master Artist for the Woodson Art Museum since the inaugural exhibition 42 years ago.”
“Don’s work may well be familiar to people who have seen his work in 16 previous exhibitions,” said Beck. “We are thrilled to have about 17 of his sculptures on view in the Master Artist exhibition.”
The theme has been the same for 42 years, but the art itself is always new. Beck says the earlier you are on Saturday, the better, as 60 artists will be talking with visitors about their work from 9am to 12 noon.
Birds in Art is on display from Saturday, September 9th, through November 26th. As always, the Woodson Art Museum is free to enter.
The exhibit is only part of Artrageous Weekend, with the Art in the Park sale in Marathon Park and the 53rd Festival of Arts around the 400 Block downtown.
