CLEVELAND, OH (WSAU) — The Brewers fell to the Cleveland Indians for the second straight day, this time by a score of 3-1, and were swept by the team in their brief two-game series.
Travis Shaw drove home the lone run for the Brewers in the third inning with an RBI single. Lorenzo Cain, Christian Yelich, and Erik Krantz each contributed two hits to the Brewers nine total hits, but it wasn’t enough.
Starter Chase Anderson took the loss, pitching four-and-a-third innings, allowed all three of the Cleveland runs, walked three, and struck out four. Jeremy Jeffress, Taylor Williams, Boone Logan, and Jacob Barnes combined to throw three-and-two-thirds innings out of the Milwaukee bullpen and did not allow a run.
Milwaukee is now off on Thursday before beginning a weekend series with the Philadelphia Phillies in Philly on Friday night. Jhoulys Chacin will take the mound in game one of that series. Pregame coverage begins at 5:30 on the Brewers Radio Network.
