MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — Packers fans in Central Wisconsin will have to chances to meet some of their favorite players over the next week when the team brings their 2019 Tailgate Tour to Marshfield and Antigo.
The annual event brings Packers alumni and team executives together to tour the state and interact with fans while raising money for a charitable group or organization.
The Marshfield stop will benefit PDC Orenda Center, a shelter offering support and resources to women who have been victims of domestic or sexual abuse. Executive Director Renee Schulz says her group will receive 100% of the proceeds from the event, which comes at just the right time for them.
“We recently moved into a new location, so we are learning,” said Schulz. In addition to helping to pay for the expenses of moving their operations, she says the funding will help support programs and resources already in place for PDC.
“We have advocacy services along with support and programming for the individuals that we work with, and we also have a shelter.”
The tour begins Tuesday at the Marshfield Country Club at 6:00 PM. The tour will wrap up on April 13th in Antigo at the Langlade County Fairgrounds.
A number of $40 tickets for the event remain on sale. Schulz says those include access to the question and answer session with team President Mark Murphy along with the tailgate meal and access to alumni autographs. Those tickets can still be purchased on Tuesday at the PDC center or reserved by phone by calling the center directly. Tickets will also be available during the day at the Marshfield Country Club. Any remaining tickets will be available at the door.
An unlimited number of $10 general admission tickets are also on sale which includes admission to the Q-and-A but don’t allow for autographs or the meal. Those who purchase a GA ticket can still buy the meal separately.
Schulz notes that the event will be outdoors and will happen rain or shine. Tents and heaters will be provided if inclement weather approaches.
In addition to Murphy, this year’s tour will include appearances by Nick Barnett, Earl Dotson, Ryan Grant, Bernardo Harris, Aaron Kampman, and Scott Wells.
Due to changes in the 2019 off-season workout program, this year’s tour will not feature any current players.
Tickets for that event are on sale at Pick N Save of Antigo and will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Langlade County. Prices remain the same as the Marshfield stop.
Other stops include the Leine Lodge in Chippewa Falls, Meadowview Middle School in Sparta, and the East Metro Jet Center in New Richmond.
