WESTON, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — About 50 people were in Weston on Saturday to share personal stories and experiences they’ve had with Bigfoot.
Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization put on the event. Matt Moneymaker created the TV series “Finding Bigfoot” and was the keynote speaker at the event. Moneymaker fielded questions from those who have claimed to have seen the creature.
Robert Barhite with the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization tells Newsline 9 they’re conducting research for future expeditions.
“What we do when we investigate is try to debunk what the person saw,” he said. “We start out that they didn’t see a Sasquatch, that they saw a bear (or) they saw a person walking.”
Barhite says he believes the Bigfoot population is anywhere from 1,000 to 100,000 across the country.
