James Farrar
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — A 26-year-old Wausau man is facing charges of reckless endangerment and possession of a firearm while intoxicated after allegedly pulling a gun on two different individuals on separate days.
Newsline 9 reports that James Justin Mack Farrar is believed to have pulled a gun on his cousin during a dispute over money on December 11 in an apartment in Rib Mountain. Farrar’s cousin says he told him that the gun didn’t have a safety and he knew how to use it. He added that he waited three weeks to report the incident because it involved past-due rent and he feared for the safety of himself and the public.
Farrar himself told investigators that his cousin had barged into the apartment and lunged at him. Adding his body language justified pulling the gun. Farrar did call police after that incident but told them not to contact his cousin because that would only make matters worse.
In a separate incident on December 26th Farrar is alleged to have pulled a gun on a 61-year-old neighbor. She told police he pointed the gun at her head and that she was afraid he would kill her. Adding she had never been so scared in her life.
It’s unclear what sparked the second incident. Farrar’s BAC level was .241 in that incident and a loaded handgun was found in his apartment.
Farrar is being held on $1,500 cash bond and is due back in court on January 8th. Charged against him carry a maximum of ten years in prison.
