MILWAUKEE, WI (MetroSource-WSAU)– The Milwaukee Brewers’ scheduled doubleheader with the Cardinals on Sunday was postponed due to concerns amid positive COVID-19 tests.
Six players and staff on St. Louis have tested positive and they are still waiting on results of more.
Meanwhile Brewers Gold Glove outfielder Lorenzo Cain is opting out of the remainder of the 2020 season due to the coronavirus.
Cain announced the decision over the weekend after discussing it with his wife and three sons. Brewers general manager David Stearns says he respects Cain’s decision.
And Brewers bench coach Pat Murphy suffered a moderate heart attack during a team workout Saturday at Miller Park.
Murphy was immediately transported to a hospital where he had a stent put in. He is expected to make a full recovery.
The Brewers are scheduled to take on the Chicago White Sox tonight at Miller Park. Pre game show at 6:35 on WSAU.
