Another free COVID-19 testing event is being held Friday.
The Marathon County Health Department is holding a free COVID-19 testing event on Friday, August 7th at Northcentral Technical College. The Health Department is being helped by the Wisconsin National Guard in administering the tests from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is a drive-up or walk-up style COVID-19 nasal swab testing. Anyone over the age of 5 is eligible for the free testing event.
The Health Department does have some recommendations for the event. The busiest time for testing clinics is usually between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., so residents are encouraged to come between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to avoid long wait times. The event will also have electronic registration. The registration is done on the day of the event and instructions can be found on the DHS website.
Results from National Guard testing sites typically take between 3 to 5 days to be returned to individuals. Those who have been waiting for over 5 days for their results can call a new Wisconsin DHS COVID-19 test result hotline at 1-866-419-6988.
