Thomson International Inc. is recalling their red, yellow, white, and sweet yellow onions that were shipped between May 1st, 2020 and now. The onions were shipped to all 50 states, along with the District of Columbia, and Canada.
They decided to recall the onions due to a possible contamination of salmonella. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration teamed up with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to investigate a salmonella outbreak in the United States. They’re trying to see if the onions are tied to the outbreak or not, but the company didn’t want to take any chances.
So far, there are five cases of salmonella reported in Wisconsin, but almost 400 cases all together. If you’ve purchased Thomson International Inc. onions, please dispose of them and properly clean any surface they’ve come in contact with.
