WAUWATOSA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK)– Wauwatosa police say that a large group of 50 to 60 people gathered at the home of a Wauwatosa Police officer at the area of N. 100th Street and W. Vienna Street Saturday night.
Police say the group targeted and vandalized officer Joseph Mensah’s home Saturday night just after 8:00 p.m.
Wauwatosa Police say Mensah attempted to establish a dialogue with the group, but then moved back into his home after being physically assaulted.
When Mensah retreated back into his house, armed protestors approached his back door and a round from a shotgun was fired into the door.
Wauwatosa Police say multiple neighboring agencies helped to disperse the large group.
The investigation of the incident is still ongoing, according to officials.
