Every Summer we have more reported ATV accidents with children because they’re out of school. The surge of accidents started earlier this year, most likely because schools closed unexpectedly.
Doctors have seen an uptick in everything from bike injuries to four-wheeler injuries. They assume that the injuries are actually about four to five times higher than the ones that are reported because most people don’t go into the ER for all accidents. In a normal year, about 40,000 kids (under the age of 16) are treated for ATV related injuries and sadly, sometimes the accidents can be fatal.
Please be careful when on ATVs this Summer.
