MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — One thousand Wisconsinites have died due to complications from the COVID-19 Coronavirus since the onset of the pandemic.
The state Department of Health Services reported eight new deaths on Tuesday, bringing the total to 1,006 since the pandemic began.
Meanwhile, DHS reported 724 new confirmed cases of the virus on Tuesday, along with 12,875 negative tests. The 5.3% rate of positive tests was down from Monday and was below the seven-day average of 6.3%.
DHS considers 50,662 people to have recovered from COVID-19.
