Police are investigating the butchering of five horses South of Houston. The first killing was on May 22nd, then on June 10th, June 29th, and the last one occurred on August 8th.
Officers were responding to an animal cruelty report in the beginning of June when they discovered a horse that had died from a stab wound to the chest. Police also saw that the horse had been butchered. The backstraps and front and hindquarters were gone. Investigators believe someone took them out to use for meat.
On August 8th, police were investigating two missing horses and found them not too far away from their farm. The two were also butchered and had their backstraps and hindquarters removed.
Police are warning horse owners in that area to be very careful. Hopefully, they find out who’s behind the butchering before another horse gets killed.
