MINNEAPOLIS, MINN (MetroSource-WSAU) — Nelson Cruz hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning to break open a 2-1 game and the Twins went on to beat the Milwaukee Brewers 7-1 in Minnesota.
Jorge Polanco doubled in two more in a three-run eighth as the Twins took two-of-three in the series. Jose Berrios struck out nine while allowing just one hit and one walk in six shutout innings.
Brandon Woodruff gave up two runs in five frames to take the loss. Justin Smoak homered for Milwaukee, which fell under .500 at 11-and-12.
The Brewers begin a series in Pittsburgh tonight…pre game show at 5:30 on WSAU.
