PITTSBURGH, PA (MetroSourcE-WSAU) — Gregory Polanco hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth to lift the Pirates to a 5-4 win over the Brewers in Pittsburgh. The last place Pirates took all four games in the series.
Polanco finished 2-for-3 with a pair of stolen bases. Chris Stratton got the win out of the bullpen, his first, and Richard Rodriguez picked up his first save.
Justin Smoak was 2-for-4 with a double, homer, and three RBI for Milwaukee, who have lost four-straight. Omar Narvaez broke out of an 0-19 slump with two hits.
David Phelps fell to 2-and-3 after giving up the homer in relief.
The Brewers begin a 10 game homestand as they face the Reds tonight at Miller Park. Pre-game show at 6:35pm.
