EAGLE RIVER, WI (WSAU) — Warnings about a high level of e.coli is coming for two Northwoods beaches.
According to a Facebook post from the Vilas County Public Health Department, two beaches will be labeled a high E.Coli advisory. Those beaches are Big Arbor Vitae Lake and Hunter Lake. Big Arbor Vitae Lake also has visible blue-green algae sited near the beach.
If blue-green algae are found at the beach it will be closed for the next day or two. Both beaches will be retested and sampled each day until bacterial levels are at a place safe enough for swimming.
