MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The percentage of positive coronavirus tests in Wisconsin was under 7% for the first time in a week on Tuesday, while 13 more people died.
The state Department of Health Services reported 638 new confirmed cases of coronavirus and 9,349 negative tests. Both numbers were up from weekend lows. The 6.4% positivity rate was the lowest since 6.3% tested positive one week earlier.
The seven-day average of new cases was at 666 on Tuesday, with the seven-day average positivity at 8%.
There have now been 71,492 confirmed cases in Wisconsin, along with more than 1.1 million negative tests. DHS listed 62,995 people as having recovered from COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus.
Tuesday’s deaths pushed the total in the state to 1,094.
Hospitalization data had not been updated for the day as of early afternoon.
