MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The seven-day average number of new coronavirus cases in Wisconsin rose for the third straight day as the state reported 878 more positive tests on Thursday.
The state Department of Health Services reported a total of 10,791 test results. The 8.1% positivity rate was slightly below the seven-day average of 8.2%.
The seven-day average of new cases rose to 700. It was the first time in July 19-21 that the seven-day average went up on three consecutive days.
DHS also reported 11 new deaths, bringing the total to 1,111.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 73,138 total infections and nearly 1.5 million negative tests. As of Thursday, DHS listed 64,480 people as having recovered.
