COLOMA, WI (WSAU) — Two Wausau residents were injured in a Waushara County crash that killed a 50-year-old Michigan man.
Highway Patrol officials were called to the intersection of Highway 21 and 4th Avenue where a westbound semi and an eastbound 2019 Dodge Caravan collided head-on.
The driver of the van, identified as Robert Alan Samples of Grand Rapids, MI, was flown from the scene and pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Neither the driver of the semi, 66-year-old William Boyd Lee nor the passenger, 74-year-old Deanna Lynn Lee, were injured.
All three parties involved in the crash were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, and alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
