MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — More than 400,000 people in Wisconsin have been confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus since the pandemic began.
The state Department of Health Services reported 4,847 new confirmed infections on Friday, or 31.9% of the 15,197 total tests completed. There were 63 new deaths reported, as well.
Seven-day averages moved to 4,102 new cases, 32.7% test positivity and 53 deaths.
Overall, Wisconsin has seen 404,555 confirmed cases, nearly 2.2 million negative tests and 3,625 deaths. DHS considers 331,425 people to have recovered from COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus.
The number of patients at the state’s alternate care facility near Milwaukee rose by one on Friday to nine.
Overall hospital numbers are expected to be updated later Friday afternoon.
