MADISON, WI (METRO) – Wisconsin’s proposed state spending could outpace the state’s tax dollars by about two billion-dollars according to a new report.
The Wisconsin Policy Forum yesterday said Wisconsin will be at least 373 million-dollars short in the next state budget.
The group also says there are about a billion-dollars in new Medicaid costs that are ‘unavoidable,’ as well as requests to spend more on schools, the UW System, and state employees.
The Policy Forum says added all together, that comes to two billion-dollars. The report doesn’t offer any suggestions as to how to fill that gap.
