MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) Reserve Judge Stephen Simanek ruled against the Trump campaign’s lawsuit on Friday.
The ruling came after a short pause after an online hearing on Friday.
Trump sued over alleged vote-counting irregularities in Dane and Milwaukee counties. The state Supreme Court refused to hear the case directly, sending it to circuit court instead Separate challenges in the two counties where Trump paid for a partial recount were combined into one case. The matter could still be appealed to the state Supreme Court.
The Trump campaign had asked for a quick ruling so additional appeals could be filed before the Electoral College meets this coming Monday.
Trump has also challenged Wisconsin’s election results in federal court in a separate case. That lawsuit argues that changes to absentee ballot and voter ID procedures needed to be approved by the state legislature, instead of orders from the state Elections Commission.
