MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — With a week before Christmas, the number of coronavirus cases continue to trend down, although the number of deaths remain high.
On Friday, the state reported 3,325 new coronavirus cases, that’s down from 3,643 new cases Thursday.
An additional 7,194 people tested negative Friday, making the positivity rate 31.8%, down from 33.3% the previous day.
The state considered more than 408,000 people to have recovered from the virus with 38,892 active cases.
Another 60 people died from the virus in Wisconsin Friday, bringing the total to 4,315.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 451,676 total cases and nearly 2.3 million negative tests.
As of Thursday, there were five patients at the state’s alternate care facility near Milwaukee, one more than on Wednesday.
