MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The seven-day average of new coronavirus cases in Wisconsin declined slightly as testing remained low during the holiday week.
The state Department of Health Services reported 2,384 new cases on Tuesday, or 39.6% of the 6,017 total tests done. Another 72 new deaths were also reported.
Seven-day averages moved to 1,931 new cases, 25.4% test positivity and 34 deaths.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 474,537 confirmed cases, more than 2.3 million negative tests and 4,783 deaths. DHS lists 440,857 people as having recovered from COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus.
The state’s new weekly vaccine dashboard shows 47,157 shots have been administered. The dashboard is scheduled to be updated each Tuesday.
As of Tuesday, there were no patients at the alternate care facility near Milwaukee. Overall hospitalization numbers were expected to be updated later in the afternoon.
