MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — A routine traffic stop Monday evening in Marshfield led to the return of a Wausau teen that had been reported as a runaway.
Police say they found a vehicle parked in the Wildwood Park and Zoo after the facility had closed on December 28th. Inside they found a 14-year-old Wausau girl who had been reported as a runaway and a 22-year-old Wausau man who appeared to be “under the influence.”
He was identified as Francis Rychtik. Officers arrested him on the suspicion of OWI and concealing a firearm.
Drug paraphernalia was also found in the vehicle.
It’s unclear how long the teen was considered a runaway. Officers say she has been returned to her family, and her name is not being released at this time.
Charges against Rychtik have been forwarded to the Wood County District Attorney’s office.
