MADISON, WI (WSAU) — Sunday’s MBB game between Wisconsin and Penn State is being postponed.
A statement from the UW said the decision was “mutually agreed upon by both teams due to health and safety concerns.” There was no mention of whether an outbreak of COVID-19 prompted the decision.
Several sources say the Badgers practiced on Saturday, although it’s unknown if any players didn’t participate. The UW athletic department said the team will practice on Monday, in anticipation of playing Indiana at home on Thursday.
The Badgers are 9-2 overall and 3-1 in Big Ten play, tied for second place in the league.
Wisconsin and Penn State say they will work with the Big Ten to reschedule Sunday’s game.
