MERRILL, WI (WSAU) — A 41-year-old Merrill man was arrested in Lincoln County for drug charges after a traffic stop along County Road Q near Highway 51 last week.
Officers say the unidentified man was pulled over for an undisclosed traffic violation when officers discovered he was behind on child support payments. During the stop, officers learned that he had passed drug paraphernalia on to a child in the car to keep officers from finding it on his person.
The man was held on a warrant for failing to pay child support, then charged with a misdemeanor for providing drug paraphernalia to a minor.
It’s unclear if the child was related to the man.
