In eighth grade, I’m not sure that I’d be selfless enough to donate everything I won to an important cause, but this girl was.
Tori Millirons is an eighth-grader from Georgia who was showing at the Lowndes Area Market Hog Show and received Grand Champion pig! Millirons ended up selling the pig and collecting $5,000, which she decided to donate. She gave all of her winnings to South Georgia Medical Center’s Pearlman Cancer Center to help breast cancer patients.
She chose to donate the money to this specific center in memory of one of her family members who passed away the night of the hog show due to breast cancer. We should all strive to be this giving.
