MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The Badger men’s basketball team went cold at home in a 74-62 loss to Ohio State on Saturday.
Aleem Ford led the Badgers with 13 points. D’Mitrik Trice added 12. Micah Potter, the Mentor, Ohio native who started his career at Ohio State, scored 11 points against his former team.
Nate Reuvers added 11 points off the bench. Four other players combined to score the remaining 15 points including starters Tyler Wahl and Brad Davison.
Wisconsin shot 40.4% for the game and 25% (7-28) from three-point land, far behind the Buckeyes in both categories (51% and 31%, respectively).
OSU’s EJ Liddell led all scorers with 20.
Wisconsin trailed throughout the game and didn’t crack the ten-point mark until the midway point of the first half. The Badgers did cut the Buckeye lead to four on two occasions with around five minutes remaining in the second half but were unable to pull any closer.
Wisconsin is now 12-4 and 6-3 in Big Ten play. Their next scheduled game is Wednesday at Maryland.
