STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The United States Golf Association announced today that SentryWorld in Stevens Point would host the 43rd US Senior Open June 29-July 2 2023.
USGA Senior managing director John Bodenhamer said “We know the region and community will enthusiastically support the US Senior Open and that SentryWorld will provide a complete test for the international field competing for the Francis D.Ouimet Trophy.”
The course has hosted national events before. In 1986 the US Womens Amateur Public Links finals were won by Cindy Schreyer. And in 2019 the US Girls Junior Championship was won by Lei Ye.
Pete McPartland, Sentry Chairman of the Board and CEO said “golf is a part of our DNA”. “We will get to show the world our beautiful course and community and look forward to working with the USGA team over the next two years as we prepare to host what will surely be a memorable championship.
