RHINELANDER, WI (WSAU) — State Patrol officials have arrested a 34-year-old Brillion woman on suspicion of her first OWI with two children in the vehicle.
Officers conducted a routine traffic stop for speeding Monday on a vehicle driven by Kathleen Hull. While interacting with her, they noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the car. Hull then admitted to having smoked before getting behind the wheel.
A standard field sobriety test was given, which Hull failed.
She now faces a first-offense OWI with a passenger under the age of 16 along with counts of possession of THC, drug paraphernalia, and a Schedule II controlled substance.
Having a child under the age of 16 in the vehicle with you at the time of a first-offense OWI violation elevates the charges to a criminal level and can lead to a jail sentence of up to six months.
