HAYWARD, WI (WSAU) — Sawyer County Sheriff’s officers have taken nearly $40,000 worth of meth off the streets following a traffic stop in the Town of Edgewater.
The incident started when officers, acting on a tip from the public, began an investigation into possible illegal drug activity. During that investigation, a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Kena Baird was conducted.
She was later arrested on suspicion of possession of THC, drug paraphernalia, and possession with intent to manufacture and deliver meth.
A search of her vehicle turned up 394 grams of meth, 3.3 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 4.1 grams of THC, and other drug paraphernalia.
Officers say the street value of the meth alone is $39,000.
Baird is being held in the Sawyer County Jail on a $50,000 bond. She will make an initial court appearance on Thursday.
