MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers have parted ways with shortstop Orlando Arcia.
Arcia was traded on to the Atlanta Braves for two relief pitchers, Chad Sobotka and Patrick Weigel.
Arcia was once a top 10 prospect, but had struggled at the plate in the big leagues. He’s a lifetime .244 hitter.
Luis Urias will become the Brewer’s full-time shortstop.
Arcia will likely be a back-up for the Braves, playing behind starter Dansby Swanson.
The Brewers are off to a slow start in 2021, having lost 3 of their first 4 games. The Braves have started the season losing their first three games.
