According to Holstein Association USA, a cow from Lancaster, Wisconsin broke a record for milk production. Stone-Front Leader Hilda is a 15-year-old cow owned by Andy and Lyn Buttles of Stone-Front Farm that just set the record for the most Lifetime Milk produced by a Holstein.
She finished her 2020 lactation with a grand total of 460,720 pounds of milk, which beats the old record by 2,720 pounds. The previous record was set by “Granny” from Koepke Farms in Oconomowoc in 2003.
The Buttles family has been milking Registered Holsteins since 1913 and have a herd average of 30,058 pounds.
