SAN DIEGO, CA (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers only managed five hits but three were solo home runs in a 3-1 win over the San Diego Padres on Monday night.
Luis Urias, Billy McKinney and Tyrone Taylor hit the the long balls. The Brewers struggled against Padre starter Joe Musgrove who struck out 13. Musgrove had pitched the Padres first ever no-hitter earlier this season.
Brandon Woodruff and the Brewer bullpen shut down the potent Padre attack on just two hits. Woodruff went six innings giving up one hit and one run with seven strikeouts. J.P. Feyereisen, Brent Suter and Josh Hader finished up allowing just one hit the rest of the way.
Milwaukee, now 9-7, will face the Padres again tonight…pre game show at 8:35 on WSAU.
