JBS, the world’s largest protein company, recently entered into an agreement to purchase Vivera, Europe’s third-largest plant-based food company, which is worth $410 million. Vivera creates a variety of plant-based meat replacement products for major retailers in Europe. The deal includes three manufacturing facilities and a research and development center in the Netherlands.
The purchase of Vivera will help JBS and its plant-based platform, according to the company. The deal will add a brand to JBS that’s very well-known, strengthening the company’s focus on value-added products. JBS plans to manage Vivera as its own business unit without changing the current leadership team.
