MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The University of Wisconsin extended the contracts of a number of athletic coaches on Friday.
The five year contract of football coach Paul Chryst now runs until January 31, 2026 and the 5 year contract of men’s basketball coach Greg Gard runs through May 31, 2026.
The five year contracts of hockey coaches Tony Granato and Mark Johnson have been extended until June 30, 2026.
The contracts were also extended for swimming and diving coach Yuri Suguiyama and wrestling coach Chris Bono. Volleyball coach Kelly Sheffield’s contract will be handled later this year.
The Athletic Board also approved the athletic department’s budget proposal of $129 million for 2021-22.
