MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Bucks picked up a big Eastern Conference win on Saturday against a shorthanded Philadelphia 76ers squad 132-94.
Giannis Antetokounmpo led a balanced scoring effort with 24 points and 14 rebounds to go with seven assists and two steals in the win. He was one of seven Bucks to finish the game with ten or more points.
Others in double figures included Bobby Portis with 17, Bryn Forbes with 13, and Jordan Nwora with 13. All three did their damage coming off the bench.
Jrue Holiday added 12 points, five assists, and four steals. Donte DiVincenzo scored 11.
Every player who dressed for the Bucks on Saturday played at least three minutes and etched their name in the scoring column.
Joel Embiid did not play for the Sixers due to injury. Tyrese Maxey and Shake Milton led the way in his place with 15 points each.
The win closes the gap between Philadelphia (2nd place, 39-21) and Milwaukee (3rd place, 37-22) to 1.5 games in the Eastern Conference standings.
Milwaukee has four games remaining on their schedule beginning tonight with a contest against Atlanta. Charlotte, Houston, and Chicago are also on tap before the end of the month.
As it stands the Bucks would hold the 3rd seed in the East Playoffs and have a best-of-seven first-round series against Boston. If they can catch the Sixers and take over second place, they would then have the winner of the play-in game between the 7th and 8th place teams in the East.
