MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — It took 11 innings but the Brewers were able to walk off the defending World Series Champion LA Dodgers 5-6 on Saturday at American Family Field
Travis Shaw’s RBI single capped off a three-run bottom of the 11th and give the Crew the win. Shaw was one of three batters to finish the game with two hits, while also picking up two RBI.
Avisail Garcia finished 2-4 with one RBI and two walks. Luis Urias was 2-3 with two RBI and a run scored.
The game went into the 4th inning tied at 2, and that’s where things would stay until the end of the 9th. Both teams brought around their automatic runner in the 10th to send the game to the 11th tied at 3.
Brandon Woodruff turned in a quality start in the game by going 6 innings and allowing two earned runs, though he didn’t factor in the decision. Angel Perdomo was credited with the win after he pitched the final two outs of the 11th, issuing one walk and one strikeout.
It was the first win of Perdomo’s career. It also clinches the series win for the Brewers.
