NEILLSVILLE, WI (WSAU) — A Mosinee man is accused of stalking a missing woman.
A preliminary hearing was held for Jesus Contreras Perez on Wednesday, May 5th for a felony charge of stalking resulting in bodily harm. The charge does also come with domestic abuse and domestic abuse assessment modifier.
According to the criminal complaint against Contreras Perez, the unnamed woman was last seen on October 3rd of 2020. On October 5th investigators heard from a friend of the woman who said that in July the two of them had been walking when Contreras Perez approached them from his car.
After the incident, the woman told her friend that Contreras Perez had been stalking her. A separate person also told investigators that the alleged victim said Contreras Perez made threatening comments to her and had injured her.
A judge ruled on Wednesday that there is enough evidence against Contreras Perez to go to trial. He is being held on a $25,000 bond and will return to court on June 8th for an arraignment hearing.
