WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau sports bar risks losing its Class B beer and liquor license during a hearing before the Public Health and Safety Committee on Monday.
Timothy Nawrocki, the owner and operator of Roc’s Place on 3rd Avenue in Wausau, will be before the committee to answer a complaint filed against Roc’s Place.
The establishment has been the subject of nearly two dozen incidents reported to police in the last two and a half years. That includes at least five incidents of fights involving weapons. Over a dozen other incidents involving fights have also been reported.
In at least one incident officers reported that managers at the bar were uncooperative with the investigation. That included a gap in surveillance footage provided to police during the investigation.
The committee will hear evidence both for and against the complaint, then decide in a closed session. The hearing could last two to three hours depending on the amount of evidence presented and time for deliberation.

Monday’s hearing is part of a short agenda that also includes discussion on the possible non-renewal of a Class B license for the Wagon Wheel Supper Club for abandonment of premises. That would also require a hearing, which could be scheduled on Monday as well.
Monday’s meeting begins at 5:15 at City Hall. The hearing had originally been scheduled for earlier this month but was pushed back.
