GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) — As expected, Aaron Rodgers did not clock in this morning at the Packers team facility.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that the NFL MVP was not present during an 8:30 AM team meeting to kick off mini-camp, and the team is now officially considering him “a holdout.”

Rodgers will be fined for missing the mandatory workouts and team meetings. A total that could reach $93,000 if he misses all three days.
The Packers could excuse him from the workouts which would spare him the fines. He already lost a $500,000 bonus for missing Organized Team Activities a few weeks ago, but those aren’t mandatory for veteran players.
After this week’s mini-camps players are excused until the start of training camp in late July. Should Rodgers miss any of those workouts, he would be subject to a fine of $50,000 per day which is not excusable under the current Collective Bargaining Agreement between the league and players.
As it stands the Packers have three QB’s in camp this week. The most experienced of the bunch is Blake Bortles, who worked with OC Nathaniel Hackett in Jacksonville and led the Jaguars to an appearance in the 2018 AFC title game against the New England Patriots. Though many pundits credit the Jaguars run that year to the defense and not Bortles, who was turnover prone in his years in Jacksonville.
Second-year QB Jordan Love, the Packers first-round pick in 2020, and former University of Virginia QB Kurt Benkert are also on the roster. Benkert spent the last three years on the Atlanta Falcons practice squad and has never appeared in a regular-season game. Love was the #3 QB last year and did not appear in a regular-season game last year.
