WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Ronnie Lofton Jr, the man accused of abusing his three-month-old son who later died, has entered a not guilty plea to a charge of first-degree reckless homicide.
The 39-year-old is accused of causing multiple injuries “typically seen in a high-speed car crash,” including a severe brain injury and skull fracture. The boy also had multiple bruises and retinal hemorrhaging.
The child was placed on life support but later died.

Lofton has previously been bound over for trial in the incident but that has since been rescheduled. He returns to court for a bond modification hearing on June 24th, another hearing has been scheduled for August 27th.
