WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A bench warrant has been issued for a Wausau man after missing a court date.
John Erickson, 37 was scheduled to be in Marathon County Circut Court for a scheduling hearing on Wednesday, June 23rd. But Erickson failed to appear at the hearing, where the court authorized revoking his $10,000 signature bond and issuing a bench warrant for his arrest.
Erickson is facing multiple charges of making terrorist threats in June of 2020. He is accused of threatening a handful of coworkers at a business in Schofield after an argument regarding job performance. According to witnesses, Erickson had made threatening remarks before but those threats escalated on June 24th.
According to court records, Erickson said that “one day he was going to come into the shop and kill every (expletive) in there.” The business was then closed by the owner for the rest of the day and the day after due to Erickson’s threats.
