MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – More than three in five Wisconsin adults had been vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Friday.
The Department of Health Services’ dashboard now shows the percentage of people 18 and older who have received the vaccine, in addition to the overall population.
Friday’s update showed 60.9% of adults and 49.9% of the total population having received at least one dose. Those who had completed their vaccine series made up 56.3% of adults and 45.8% of the total population.
The overall population numbers include children under 12, who are not yet eligible to be vaccinated.
Meanwhile, the state’s rolling seven-day average of new confirmed coronavirus infections closed the week on the decline after a midweek rise. Thursday’s total of 75 new confirmed infections pushed the seven-day average down to 71. It had been as high as 77 earlier in the week.
DHS reported one new death linked to COVID-19, the illness caused by the coronavirus on Thursday. The seven-day average of new deaths held steady at one per day.
