WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Flexibility remains the name of the game in scheduling events for 2021.
The Wisconsin Valley Fair’s opening-night act has been switched after some members of Boogie and the Yo-Yo’z may have been exposed to COVID-19.
The group released a statement on Facebook saying the decision was made out of an abundance of caution. “While we will miss having the opportunity to play for you all we feel we have a responsibility to do what we think is best to protect, our fans, friends, family, crew, and members. Given what we know at this time we feel this is the best possible course of action.”
In their place Vic Ferrari will take the stage in Marathon Park at 7:30 Tuesday evening followed by a fireworks show.
Boogie and the Yo-Yo’z have also canceled a show on Saturday in Iron Ridge. A replacement act for that event hasn’t been announced as of Monday.
The remainder of the fair lineup remains unchanged with the Roots N’ Boots tour, Randy Houser, and 2000’s supergroup Ezra Ray Hart rounding out the evening concert lineup this week. There will also be a rodeo and demo derby before the event closes on Sunday.
