MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Pitcher Eric Lauer is the latest member of the Milwaukee Brewers to test positive for COVID19 and will enter the quarantine protocols.
He joins Christian Yelich, Josh Hader, Hunter Strickland, Jake Cousins, Jandel Gustave and Keston Hiura on the COVID19 IL.
Lauer had no symptoms before testing positive.
He was replaced on the roster by Sal Romano who the Brewers claimed on waivers from the Yankees on Tuesday. He is a former Cincinnati Reds pitcher who only made two appearances for New York before being released.
The Brewers also announced that John Axford will be out for the season after injuring his elbow in his first game back with Milwaukee on Monday.
