State officials have identified the two-month-old child that was taken as officers attempted a wellbeing check in Wisconsin Rapids and activated the statewide AMBER Alert system for them.
Officers were asked to check on Haley Pelot and her child, Dorian Giesen, but police say when she saw them she got into a vehicle with another man and took off. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver sped up.
Officers terminated the chase near the Wisconsin Rapids city line when Pelot threatened to physically harm the child.
The AMBER Alert was activated just before noon due to Dorian Giesen’s medical condition. Officers say the child requires medication multiple times daily, and it does not appear Pelot has that medication with her.
Officers add that the child will require immediate medical attention once found.
Anyone with information about Pelot’s location is asked to call the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department at 715-421-8701, as a warrant has been issued for her arrest. She is described as 5’01”, 120 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.
She may be driving a 2002 Toyota Camry with Wisconsin plates AHY-5345. The body of the car is silver in color with a black front bumper.
