WESTON, WI (WSAU) — Everest Metro Police Chief Clay Schulz says there is no reason to believe that Wednesday’s fire at the Metro Center Apartments in Schofield was suspicious.
In a press release this morning Schulz said the investigation has pointed to the fire starting in one of the garage units before quickly spreading to the entire structure. Schulz says they received several videos and images of the fire to help them in the investigation, and at this time they don’t need anymore.
Residents who lost property in the fire are asked to fill out forms describing the items that were lost and their estimated value. Those can be obtained by contacting the property managers for the complex or the Everest Metro PD.
No further information was released. The cause of the fire remains unclear.
