MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO (WSAU) — The Wisconsin women’s hockey team opened their season with two wins over the Lindenwood University Lions this weekend.
Casey O’Brien scored a Texas hat trick with four goals on eight shots as part of a 10-0 win on Saturday. Katie Kotlowski added two goals, Sophie Shirley and Makenna Webster both scored a goal and two assists in the win. Cami Kronish and Jane Gervais split goaltending duties in the shutout.
O’Brien added two goals in Friday’s 8-1 win over the Lions as well.
Lindenwood University is a Division II school that recently moved up from the NAIA ranks. They’re located just outside St. Louis and primarily compete in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. They’re members of the College Hockey America women’s league alongside the likes of Syracuse and Penn State.
Wisconsin will continue their season-opening four-game road swing at Merrimack College in Massachusetts. Game time will be 1:00 PM on both Friday and Saturday.
