MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — Police in Marshfield are investigating several incidents of thefts in the last few weeks including a continued rash of catalytic converter thefts from vehicles.
Officers say three of the valuable parts were stolen from vehicles owned by Quality Roofing in late September. Quality Roofing reported the thefts on Tuesday.
Catalytic converter thefts have been on the rise as thieves look to sell them for the precious metals they contain.
Additionally, a 24-year-old Marshfield woman says her home on East Dodge Street was entered sometime Tuesday and numerous items were either moved or taken. According to a police report shared with the media, most of the stolen items included bottled beverages; but an Amazon Echo security camera and some Mexican Pesos were also stolen.
Officers were also able to obtain some evidence from the home. A neighbor also told them they had seen a man leaving the home on a bicycle earlier in the day.
Anyone with further information on that incident is asked to call the police.
Officers are also investigating an incident from the Bread and Butter on Central Avenue where managers say a 22-year-old employee took more than $4,250 worth of Western Union money orders. No further information into that incident has been released at this time.
